ORIEL MYRDDIN

Reading the Landscape

Dyffryn Tywi / Towy Valley, Saturday 15 August, 10:30-16:00

How do landscapes become part of our cultural memory? Who shapes the stories we tell about the places around us, and how might young people begin to curate new relationships with them?

Led by Oriel Myrddin's Engagement Manager Abby Poulson and local contributors, this Curatorial Fieldnote invites young people to explore the Towy Valley as both landscape and archive. Beginning at Oriel Myrddin with visual histories of Carmarthenshire, participants will then travel to Paxton's Tower, where creative workshops, conversation and collective reflection will consider how place, memory and imagination shape our understanding of landscape.

Part walk, part workshop and part conversation, the day offers space to think together about how curatorial practice can emerge through observation, storytelling and lived experience. No previous experience is required.
