A new public programme by HOUSE OF DREAD, commissioned by Southbank Centre
What does it mean to curate your way through the world?
Bringing together artists, young people, cultural workers and communities, Curating Otherwise explores how stories are remembered and retold, how public spaces shape cultural life, how sound carries memory across generations, and how new cultural futures are imagined together. Through conversations, workshops, walks, open calls and collective reasoning, the programme creates opportunities to shape culture, care for memory and imagine new ways of gathering, making and sharing knowledge.
Grounded in HOUSE OF DREAD's anti-disciplinary methodology, the programme centres listening, gathering and reasoning as curatorial practices. Each encounter begins with a provocation drawn from Southbank Centre's archives, histories or public spaces, opening new ways of reading the past and imagining cultural futures. Participants bring their own experiences, references and cultural knowledge into the conversation, building a shared language for curating together.
